Introduction:
In the light of the political leadership and government's care for supporting the relationships with the Nile Basin countries, within the context of the Egyptian initiative for developing the Nile Basin countries through establishing an extensive network of various and interrelated interests and relationships in different fields especially education.
Depending upon the principle that the university is the source of science, knowledge and communication on the National, Arab and African levels, Minia University is looking forward to holding an international conference entitled “Agriculture and Irrigation in the Nile Basin countries”.
Conference Topics:
1- Agriculture
- Production and genetic improvement of field and horticulture crops in the Nile Basin countries.
- Problems of livestock production in the Nile Basin countries.
- Agriculture industries and fighting poverty in the Nile Basin countries.
- Integrated management of plant diseases and pests in Nile Basin countries.
- Agricultural development in the Nile Basin countries.
2- Irrigation
- Hydrology and catchments of river Nile
- Hydraulic and irrigation establishments
- Legislative policies and irrigation in the Nile countries
- Water resources management
- Climate changes and Nile countries
Registration Fees:
- For Egyptians: participant (present paper) LE500,
- For Egyptians: auditor participant and accompanying person LE300,
- For non Egyptians: Participant (present paper) US$200,
- For non Egyptians: auditor participant and accompanying person US$100
Registration fees covers only the session’s attendance, printed materials, conference CD, and lunch for three days, BUT not include the accommodation nor travel expenses.
Recreational trips program
Trips will be arranged at a fee in coordination with a travel agency for those interested on the 29th of March, 2012. The costs and duration will be declared on the conference website. A list of hotels, the rate of accommodation costs, all information and reservation offices will be included at our website (www.micma2011.org). We can help in reservation if you need.
